Go to This Hair Washing Spa in Shanghai to Give Your Hair and Scalp a Treat!

This might be one of the most relaxing 90 minutes you’ve experienced. I came in with sad, oily, heavy, tangled hair, and came out a light, confident, new person (not an exaggeration).

I have very long and damaged hair (because of bleeching! I was blonde for 1 year and I would never do that again). Everytime I wash my hair, it is such an ordeal. I also feel that I couldn’t give my scalp a deep clean at home. Luckily, in China, going to salons and spas for hair washing is a common practice! Here is my favorite hair washing spa to go to!

The studio is small with only 4 beds, but clean and very friendly! The lady technician asked about my hair concern and recommended me a treatment that helps with dandruff and oily scalp. She first offered me some herbal tea and then guided me to the massage bed.

The treatment started! She first wet my hair with a tea-based herbal liquid. And then she washed my hair twice, massaged really thoroughly with her hands and also specialty tools on the meridians and acupressure points on my head, and put on conditional while giving me a shoulder and arm massage. It was all very comfortable. After the hair washing, she guided me to a chair to dry my hair. She put on some essence for scalp health first before she started drying with a dyson dryer, which is known to not overheat hair to cause damage. The entire process was about 75 minutes!
